Eng. Hisham Yassin Al-Dalati
Birth: Born in Homs, Syria, in 1946.\n Education: Obtained high school diploma 1965–1966, enrolled at VUT University in Brno, Czechoslovakia in 1966, and received a Master’s degree in Petrochemical Plant Engineering and Construction in 1972.\n Experience and Career: Graduation project included designing a distillation tower and an ammonia absorption tower. In 1972, worked at the Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant in Homs. After the 1973 war, worked with Lebanese company Zakhm to repair oil tanks in Tartous, supervised installation of three floating-roof tanks. Headed the Ammonia-Urea Unit Implementation Group at French company Creusot-Loire. In 1978, appointed at the General Company for the Implementation of Industrial Projects, overseeing Homs Refinery Oxygen & Nitrogen Plant, Automated Discharge Unit at Homs Sugar Plant, Southern Grain Silos, Refrigeration Unit in Hama, and Cement Silos in Kafr Buhum. In 1982, worked in Saudi Arabia as Project Manager for laying 400 km of oil pipelines. Executed Al-Azba gas pipeline 18 inches across Deir ez-Zor. Worked with Mitsubishi on Jandar and Aleppo Power Plants, assisted in cooling towers at Zara Power Plant, and rehabilitated Baniyas Power Plant.\n Received Certificates of Appreciation from French, British, and German companies for effective project contributions and adherence to schedules and international standards.\n Current Work and Hobbies: Currently a full-time Technical Consultant. Hobbies include drawing, calligraphy, wood engraving, zajal (folk poetry), and gardening. In his youth, member of Khaled Sports Club, Scout Troop, and later joined swimming and motorcycle clubs in Czechoslovakia.
